What are we fund raising for?
With your great support at all our PTA events we are able to donate money to school to help with things that make a difference not only to the children but to the school as a whole. Some money raised has always gone towards building improvements, such as the Reception classroom and the automatic entrance door with disabled / pram access, although we hope, with the advent of the Govenor’s Building Fund, that the PTA funds will be able to be spent more directly on the children. In addition to building improvements we contribute towards the cost of coaches for trips and help to subsidise some of the more expensive trips which all children will benefit from over their school career. We buy sports, IT & play equipment and pay for, or subsidise, workshops in music, drama and wildlife study.
Funding requests
Moving forward, we would like to support a range of things from large capital projects to buying those small items that make a difference to your child’s school experience. We are asking anyone with a specific need, or a suggestion as to a good use of our funds, to fill in a Funding Request Form. These are available now in the Foyer. If you, as a parent, have a suggestion for something that the School / PTA should buy please let us know via the form. We cannot promise to be able to fund everything but will, as a Committee, consider every request from Teacher or Parent.
Events
These will vary from year to year and have included Kids Discos, St Patrick’s Ceilli, Dream Auction, Pamper Night, The Ball, Spring Fayre, BBQ / Hog Roast, Quiz Nights” We aim to create opportunities for socialising and creating a school community.
What can you do?
We believe there are parents out there who have ideas for different events. Maybe you are unable to come to PTA meetings but would be prepared to pick up and run with an event. We would really like to hear from you and will be happy to offer our support to any groups or individuals who would, maybe as a one-off, like to organise something that will raise money for the school. We need to start thinking about next years events’ if you want something different – tell us!
We do not have a set committee – anyone is welcome to come to a meeting and we would love to see some new faces. Keep an eye on the PTA board for meeting dates or add your name to our email list which is a good way of keeping informed even if you can’t get to meetings.
