Welcome to St Thomas of Canterbury Catholic Primary
Welcome to St Thomas of Canterbury Catholic Primary School. Our recent Ofsted Report describes us as “a good and improving school” with “significant strengths”. The school is very good and has an excellent vision that is shared and owned by children, parents, staff and the Governing Body who are working together to make this a reality. All involved in our school believe that every child matters and we give outstanding care, guidance and support to all of our children in order for them to make excellent academic progress in their early and primary years as well as being equipped with a wide range of skills. As a Catholic community, we are proud that the spiritual development of the children and Collective Worship have both been judged to be outstanding. The children’s commitment to a healthy lifestyle is evident through the uptake of our curricular and extracurricular Physical Education provision and this has also been judged to be outstanding.
The school also has a ten place Integrated Resource for children with physical difficulties and complex medical needs. The children in this resource are fully integrated into classes with support to match their individual needs. Children in our Integrated Resource are valued and considered an important part of our school community. These children also make good progress at our school.
